I prefer watching birds to most animals. Maybe it's just, as you say, their availability. You can't ignore them. I happen to like pigeons -- and people who consider them flying rats, well maybe they don't know enough about rats (not all bad, either).

I am really looking forward to your piece on Actinopterygii (ray-finned fishes). I have faith.

Oh, we will have to take it one ray-finned fish at a time. Actinopterygii includes such excellent beings as the electric eel, the stout beardfish, and the ocean sunfish.

And the salmon. I have merely touched on the salmon.


I'm waiting for a grouse story from you. Och.
