I began my hiking in the San Francisco Bay Area, so always wore jeans on hikes to prevent contact with poison oak. When once much later I was hiking in New Mexico's Sangre de Cristo mountains, a fellow hiker asked how come I wasn't in shorts? It was sunny, hot, lovely. I always hike in jeans didn't seem like much of an answer. It was only much later I realized why the habit had formed. That it's helpful against rattlesnake venom is terrific!

No poison oak in the Sangre de Cristos range?

Elliptical reviews

No offense, but if there's a facebook like button, it'll be much easier for me to share.

Elliptical reviews, thank you for your suggestion. When I finally got it together to do this, I didn't like the terms. I like Typepad, but I don't want to give it permission to "Post to Facebook as me," for one thing.

So I passed.
